“What’s new on ‘Sunbeckia’ hardiness” will give an update on our last insights in Bull Plant Genetics Rudbeckia ‘Sunbeckia’ winter performance.

Even if the Rudbeckia ‘Sunbeckia’ is a Rudbeckia hirta, this modern series out of Hartwig Bull’s breeding program shows imposing hardiness results.

The first frosty night with -2° C / 28° F are not the deadly end of the ‘Sunbeckia’.
After the some hours back in the temperature range of 8-10 °C / 46-50 °F, the ‘Sunbeckia’ varieties are doing fine again.
Don’t plan on it, but don’t be afraid as well.

‘Sunbeckia Luna’ and ‘Mia’ in Charleston SC
In Charleston SC in the “Abide a While” gardencenter some ‘Sunbeckia’ have been planted in ground. More than just coming out of the ground, the ‘Luna’ and the ‘Mia’ starting already to flower. Even if Charleston SC has mild winters, the ‘Sunbeckia’ is willing to stay!
