I have seen impressive Echinacea ‘SunMagic’ in 2024 in several trails throughout the United States and Canada. Trials which show the capacity and performance of the ‘SunMagic’ series.
Sawaya Trials Canada
The Trials from Mel Sawaya are defenitely impressing and informative as well. All annual products are grown and displayed in containers. Perennials like Echinacea are also kept in the ground for overwinter trials.
Below you see the new ‘SunMagic Vintage’ introductions 2024/25 and their wonderfull habbit and the amazing flowerpower.
The flower in the first year is one side of the story, the hardiness is the other side.
The ‘SunMagic’ series is offered as a Zone 5 Echinacea and this is also part of the trial program in Waterford at the SAWAYA Trials.
Overwinter 2023/24
The overwinter trial looked great as well. Transplanted in2023, the plants came back great, nice mounding, covering the soil of the bed.
The flowerpower was just great!
A great series for all landscaping purposes.
After the visit of the SAWAYA Trials I had the chance to visit the Niagra Falls, showing some similar colors to the ‘SunMagic’ series.
PennState 2024 FlowerTrials
The PennState results of the 2024 Flower Trials did arrrive in October showing very good results on the ‘SunMagic Vintage’ series.
The Results 2024
The results are shown very clear in the PennState report.
On the 2 pages you are able to see the see 8 varieties with the overall rating of 5,00.
8 varieties of those are awarded as
- Best of the show
- Best of species
Impressive also the Echinacea ‘SunMagic Vintage’ in the overwinter trial from 2023 to 2024.
CSU Trials 2024
First at all we had a great results with the Echinacea ‘SunMagic Vintage Fuchisa’ in 2023, which was a winner and all in all this cultivar is still a winner!
We got some nice pictures from the 2024 planting and I would call them self speaking pictures.
Looking at this bed, I think the plants have a great habbit. Perfect for landscaping in modern gardens and nice in planters on the patio.
