We have a Bella Summer with Mandevilla ‘Bella’ here in the north of Germany. Even if the conditions are going from wet and cold to dry and hot the ‘Bella’ Mandevillas are doing great!
‘Bella Alpine Star’
The ‘Bella Alpine Star’ is great in habbit, bud-count and is flowering not only in high altidudes. Here in the our northern ‘Schleswig-Holstein’ region the ‘Alpine Star’ performce perfect.
The white maw or calyx of the ‘Alpine Star’ flower is the typical characteristic of this cultivar. Under our conditions the ‘Alpine Star’ is:
- making no tendrills
- cascading nicely
- good in bud count
- is staying nice and compact
This variety is perfect for window boxes and interessting for mixed pation planters!
I would recomend the for 10,5 – 12cm pots, a market with great potential!
‘Bella Magma’ – Top Variety in Kientzler’s program
I don’t know if the ‘Bella Magma’ found already it’s position in the market. For me it is very clear: ‘Bella Magma’ is is top variety with a great future.
The characteristics are:
- bright shining red, fired by a orange likely tone in the calyx
- in full sun less tendrills

What about ‘Bella White 2022’
I would say beautiful! Beautiful is the ‘Bella White 2022’ alone and in combinations.
The clear white with the yellow calyx makes this variety very attractive in combination with other bedding plants. ‘Bella White 2022’ is doing good in all kind of products.
For example:
- 11 – 12 cm pots
- 14 – 17 cm pots
With a little more shading the ‘Bella White 2022’ is producing great Pyramids, Racks and Arcos.
All ‘Pink’ – All ‘Good’
In Mandevilla the red color dominates but in the bedding plants assortment the pink color is a great seller!
Kientzler offers quiet a bit of pink varieties and so you could have a Bella Summer with Mandevilla ‘Bella’ in pink!
‘Bella Pink Panther’
is one of my favourites. The intense pink fits perfect with:
- Light Pink Gaxaxy Roses
- Geranium Toscana Laura
- Coleus Choclate Covered Cherry
‘Bella Pink Jewel’
likes to climb, is making tendrills and stays good on racks. The pink ring in the center matches the partners:
- Polygonum capitatum
- Geranium Toscana Raiko
- Hypoestes Hippo Rose in the back
In combinations the ‘Bella Pink Jewel’ is realy vibrant!
‘Bella Grande Light Pink’
A great climber and perfect for bigger pots with Pyramids, Racks and Arcos.
The clear pink fits to almost all colors (except orange). This variety should not be missed in any program!
Last but not least – ‘Bella Red’
The Mandevilla ‘Bella Red’ is compact variety with potential and good in smaller pots and also on medium sized Pyramids and Racks.
This variety is doing a very good job in window boxes, but also grown as solitär and bush on climbing aids. We are very enthusiastic about the combination with Kientzlers pink Chamaesyce hypericifolia (Euphorbia)
‘Bella Red’ characteristics
This plant on the right shows a combination out of:
- a Pyramid in the center
- 3 plants in 11cm pot around
The plant is full, bushy and shows a great bud-count.
The ‘Bella Red’ can be used also in mixed combinations.
