‘Sunbeckia’ pictures out of June 2025

I would like to share some nice ‘Sunbeckia’ pictures out of June 2025 with the all ‘Sunbeckia’ growers. There are some nice crop coming into flower.

Penn-State inspires!

On the left side you see a nice picture from the Penn-State trial out of June 2025. It shows the great performance of the Rudbeckia ‘Sunbeckia’

Plantpeddler / Iowa

Big pots with 2ppp are growing in Iowa at Plantpeddler’s production. It looks like that the plants are missing nothing. Next step is PGR and spacing!

Timbuk Farms / Ohio

Fully spaced are those plants at Timbuk Farms. They only wait for their daily shot of fertilizer and some PGR to keep the plants short.

If this is taken care off, the plants will finish without any cleaning of yellow leafs during packing and with a great hight on the racks!

Gartneriet 7eren / Denmark Fyn

One of the first ‘Sunbeckia’ growers has been the team from Gartneriet 7eren in Brenderup / Denmark on the island of Fyn.

All the plants are on drippers, getting all they need every day. PGR is given by sprays. The first batch from week 16 is going now into flower shortly. Next transplants are following.

‘Sunbeckia’ in smaller nurseries

The ‘Sunbeckia’ is not only a crop for specialists. Smaller growers, traditional retail-nurseries are also able to grow nice crops.

Sjuit in Marne / Schleswig-Holsteyn

Carsten from Sjuit is starting his crop under poly roof on ebb & flow benches. The plants show a fantastic growth and very good branching. Instead of PGR’s he is using the Biolchim product Shift. Shift contains natural Cytocenines for encouring the branching. A great product also on bedding plants.

Gärtnerei Aeschlimann

Guido Aeschlimann runs 3 Garden Centers in the area from Lübeck in Schlewig-Holsteyn. He is growing most of the plants for his Garden Centers in his own production facilities. The ‘Sunbeckia’ arepart of his program as well.

Gärtnerei Wiegmann / Wahlstedt

A very small retail nursery with some ‘Sunbeckia’ in production. They are easy to grow and beside the 23cm Container (10″) he is doing also some 10 L pots (2.5gal) with 3ppp.

‘Sunbeckia’ pictures out of June 2025 showing that it is not difficult to produce a outstanding ‘Sunbeckia’. Just follow the rules:

  • use a bigger pot
  • give enough fertilizer – feed like a mum is the “rule of thumb”
  • PGR in time
