Even though a Helianthus ‘SunCatcher’ is a “sunflower” it is a perfect product until late summer. Below you can see Helianthus ‘SunCatcher’ grown indoor ready in wk 36/2021. The last planting in 5,5″ pots was week 26. Exactly 10 weeks later they have been ready to go to the market.

The Helianthus ‘SunCatcher’ offers quiet a lot of features:

  • On consumer-level
    • pollinator plant
    • hardiness in Zone 5
    • bright and attractive yellow with lasting flowers
    • low susceptibility to powdery mildew
      • different to a lot of H. annuus types
  • On grower-level
    • well controllable crop
      • 10 weeks from transplanting into the pot from a liner
    • heat tollerant
      • works pretty good in summer in warm houses
      • attractive to produce after bedding plants in several batches
    • good shelflife
    • also perfect mail order product
      • also in spring to be delivered whitout flowers

The last batch of Helianthus ‘SunCatcher’ in Hartwig’s dutch greenhouse  venlo structure is looking like this. This Helianthus ‘SunCatcher’ was grown indoor and was ready in wk 36/2021.
